January 30, 20232019, 2021, 2023! What a sensation! Yesterday handball history was written in the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm. Our PUMA team Denmark won 34:29 against France in a thrilling final and is now the first country to win three titles in a row at the IHF Men’s Handball World Championship. Our PUMA athletes showed an outstanding performance with Rasmus Lauge as top scorer with 10 goals. All in all, the IHF Handball World Championship 2023 was a very successful one for PUMA with great brand visibility. PUMA’s second team, Germany, had previously beaten Norway 28-24 to take fifth place in the tournament. 🤾♂️

First team to complete a hat-trick
The PUMA team led by a single goal at the break before pulling away in the second half, with PUMA athlete and top scorer Rasmus Lauge netting outstanding 10 goals from 11 shots. But also the other big goal scorers for the Danes were PUMA athletes. Simon Pytlick scored nine goals and Matias Gidsel seven. With this victory Denmark became the first team to complete a hat-trick of men’s world titles.
Another fantastic news: With their victory, the Danes have already secured their ticket for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024! But before the Summer Olympics next year, there will be another handball highlight, which we are really looking forward to! The 2024 European Men’s Handball Championship will take place in Germany from 10-28 January. 🤾♂️ 💥
Unstoppable
On top of Denmark’s amazing win, Mathias Gidsel was named the best scorer and named MVP of the World Cup! Simon Pytlick and Niclas Ekberg (Sweden) were also named All Stars. 🌟
