January 12, 2022The RUN PUMA Family continues to grow in 2022. With the addition of Sara Vaughn, Annie Frisbie, and Dakotah Lindwurm, PUMA now sponsors four of the ten fastest female marathoners in the U.S,including Molly Seidel (of course ;-)). Find out more about the speedy PUMA athletes.
SARA VAUGHN
Sara is a former University of Colorado standout and a mother of four. She ran 2:26:53 to win the California International Marathon last year to become one of the fastest marathon debutantes in US history. Sara has spent most of her career as a middle distance runner and represented the US in the 2017 World Track & Field Championships, where she ran a personal best of 4:04.56 to reach the semi-finals. Although this appears to be a giant leap, she routinely runs 100-mile weeks, so the transition was quite smooth. “California International Marathon was a great breakthrough race for me, but what’s most exciting is that it’s a starting point. I can’t wait to run another one. It feels like a second chance for my running career, and I’m so excited to partner with PUMA for it.”
ANNIE FRISBIE
Annie recently finished 7th in her debut marathon at the 2021 NYC Marathon in a time of 2:26:18. Also in 2021, she was 3rd at the USATF 10k Championships in a time of 32:06 and was 5th at the USATF 10 Mile Championships in a time of 52:26. She ran for Iowa State University and joined Minnesota Distance Elite in 2019 which is coached by Chris Lundstrom.
DAKOTAH LINDWURM
Dakotah recently finished 3rd at the 2021 USATF Half Marathon Championships in a personal best time of 1:09:40. Also in 2021, she was 13th overall and 3rd American at the Boston Marathon in a time of 2:31:04 and she won Grandma’s Marathon in June in a personal best time of 2:29:04. She ran for Northern State University and joined Minnesota Distance Elite in 2018 which is coached by Chris Lundstrom.
