European Champion!

He is a great showman 🎩 AND he shows outstanding athletic performances. Yesterday he enchanted the Munich Olympic Stadium. Our beloved PUMA athlete Gianmarco Tamberi showed once again that he can always deliver on big occasions. Olympic champion Gianmarco took revenge for his fourth place at the World Championships in Eugene this year by taking his second European gold in the men’s high jump. And what a show it was, check it out!

Six years after his first gold medal, Gianmarco takes back the European title. The Olympic champion made the most of the large, noisy crowd in Munich to clear 2.30m and win his contest.

In our interview with him he speaks about his motivation to keep performing at the highest level, about his very first successes and the extraordinary performance at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. 

“That feeling that I had that day, that happiness I couldn’t even imagine that could exist. It’s something that was coming out of my body. My heart was exploding.” 

Tamberi really showed what the Olympic spirit is about when sharing first place in Tokyo. For him it felt just natural. “If both can go back with the happiness? With the proudness of what they have done. It’s much better. We didn’t even think one moment that it would have been different the end, so I will never regret that decision. We will remember it forever and I’m sure we will not be the only two people remembering it.”
