February 27, 2023That’s his 60th jump over 6.00m in his career! 🤯 PUMA Athlete Mondo Duplantis continues to be in a league of his own. At the World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting, in Clermont-Ferrand on Saturday he added one centimetre to his own world pole vault record. 6.22 meters! 🦅
The Olympic and world champion attempted the record height already on his season opener in Uppsala, Sweden at the start of this month where he won in the end with 6.10m for his best-ever season debut. Mondo also tried 6.22m eight days later in Berlin, where he managed a best of 6.06m. Buuuuut this time, in his final competition of the season, the pole vault suuuuuuuperstar achieved the historic mark, soaring clear at 6.22 meters. It is the SIXTH world record of his career!!!!!!! We do have a strong feeling it won´t be the last one! 🐐

Our beloved 23-year-old pole-vaulter has now raised the world record to 6.22 meters. By his side was his idol, friend and also PUMA family member Renaud Lavillenie. Renaud who jumped 6.16 meters in 2014 was also the meeting organiser of the All Star Perche. Mondo broke the record on Saturday, February 25, on his third and final attempt at the height without touching the bar. Renaud watched it trackside and sprinted to Mondo after his jump to be the first person to embrace him.
“I wanted to do it for Renaud,” said Mondo after the competition. “This is really special.”
