Battle of the Mullets

Whose mullet is better? PUMA Australia welcomed mullet icons Valtteri Bottas and Nedd Brockmann to face off in a “Race to the Finnish” competition at the PUMA Chadstone store ahead of this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix. The two competed in Aussie-inspired challenges and took part in a live Q&A. Valtteri also had a go behind the barber chair, all for a good cause. Find out more below!

As the official racewear partner of the Alfa Romeo F1 Team, PUMA invited Alfa Romeo F1 Team Driver Valtteri Bottas to the Australian flagship store in the run up to the Australian Grand Prix this Sunday. As a fellow mullet wearer, we also welcomed PUMA ambassador Nedd Brockmann – the man who ran across Australia – to the store.

The two put their reaction times to the test in the ruler drop challenge, their accuracy in a marmite on toast ball throwing game, and their steady hands in a no spill challenge.

Nedd put his trust in Valtteri as he took a turn behind the barber chair to spray paint the iconic PUMA cat on Nedd’s hair. But it was not only for aesthetic purposes, it also stood for a cause. In support of Bottas’ and Alfa Romeo F1 Team, PUMA has pledged to donate directly to Alfa Romeo F1 Team’s official charity partner, Save the Children. Bottas’ special edition racing helmet for the Australian Grand Prix, designed by Indigenous artist, Ricky Kildea, will also be auctioned off to benefit Save the Children.

Of course, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to invite other mullet-icons to the event! Pro Athlete Trainer and Influencer Tom Baulch came to the store to get his mullet freshly touched up, while NRL star Cameron Munster also swung by the event.

We also welcomed ten lucky shoppers – who had to spend $100 in store at PUMA Chadstone or Highpoint and share why they want to meet Valtteri Bottas – to the store!
