August 24, 2023The PUMAFam witnesses yet another spectacular night at the World Athletic Championships in Budapest, as our Athletes impress with their medalling performances!
🥇🥇🥈🥉 Karsten Warholm and Kyron McMaster dominated the 400m hurdles final while Nina Kennedy and Wilma Murto took gold and bronze in the pole vault event. What an exceptional display of talent and determination – congrats, PUMAFam!
PUMAFam Forever.Faster.
Karsten Warholm raced to victory in the highly anticipated 400m hurdles final, seizing the gold medal. His performance solidified his position as the king of 400m hurdles, as he is the first male 400m hurdler to claim the World Championships crown for a third time.
In the same event, Kyron McMaster wrote history for the British Virgin Islands’ athletics. His sterling performance earned him the silver medal in the 400m hurdles, marking the first-ever World Track and Field medal for the British Virgin Islands.
PUMAFam Forever.Higher.
Nina Kennedy ascended to new heights, as she clinched the gold medal in the pole vault event in Budapest. Together with US athlete Katie Moon, she cleared 4.90 metres in a dramatic final that stretched over two hours and 10 minutes, but both missed on all three attempts at 4.95 and decided to share the victory rather than go to a jump-off.
Our PUMA athlete Wilma Murto claimed the third spot on the podium and secured the bronze medal in the pole vault, reaching a height of 4.8 meters.
The sixth day of the World Athletics Championships ends with a golden night and two World Champions in our PUMAFam!
