Get the Look: PUMA x LEMLEM

The first collaboration between global sports brand PUMA and low-key high-vibe swimwear label lemlem, is here and it’s got the goods. Combining lemlem aesthetics ─ think vibrant colours and captivating patterns ─ with PUMA’s signature sportswear, a collection is born that is powerfully primed for premium performance. We’ve styled an outfit inspired by the launch, incorporating pieces from the line for a sporty, feminine and fun look.

The Shoes

Eclectic and electric, footwear choices from this collection include the PWR XX NITRO and the Velocity NITRO 2 (as seen styled here). Both shoes feature premium knitted uppers with eye-catching colors and lemlem’s traditional triangle print. Designed specifically for women, the lightweight shoes showcase a stylish silhouette that is also secure and supportive. A nitrogen-infused midsole provides supreme cushioning, while the PUMAGRIP outsole offers multi-surface traction. Tight and tailored, they’re both perfect for a full range of activities (and an array of stylish outfits).

The Outfit

Founded by supermodel Liya Kebede, lemlem is a artisan-driven fashion brand on a mission to preserve the local art of weaving in Ethiopia while fostering economic growth across the continent. The new collaboration seeks to tick off sustainability, style and supreme comfort all in one, remixing classic PUMA sportstyle with handsketched designs from African artisans. The co-branded collection also communicates a commitment to more sustainable practices, using fabrics composed of a minimum of 20% recycled material.

The launch serves up apparel items displaying geometric prints, high-tech details and abstract textures. We were drawn to the sleek one-piece for today’s look, because it provides an ideal base for layering. The soft lightweight fabric hugs the body and enables motion, movement and maximum freedom. Made from recycled materials and dryCELL moisture-wicking technology it nails that sports performance meets fashion balance. Beneath pops an extra splash of color in the form of the sporty racerback cropped tank, with that same jaunty pattern running along the elastic band. Finally, giving best of both worlds, a denim jacket offers both oversized and cropped feels, with large round shoulders and raw-cut hem for a modern twist on a vintage vibe.

The Accessories

Accessories for this look stay in the realm of fun and feminine ─ golden hoops with transparent crystals suspended from the pinnacle glint from the ears for a nice twist on a fashion favourite. Hot pink tinted sunglasses give a Barbie-equse hint of feminist power, and a jaunty silk-twill scarf with a soft floral motif elevates it all with a touch of old school elegance. Finally the frosty pink belt bag with adjustable shoulder strap and that classic triangular lemlem pattern is perfect for both active and everyday wear.
