FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty

The Creeper Phatty has just arrived, and it’s bigger and badder than ever. Global pop icon Rihanna pairs up with PUMA to officially relaunch the quintessential Creeper sneaker and it was well worth the wait. Inspired by the collab’s vision to bring a classic back with extra style, extra confidence, extra, well, everything, we’ve created an elevated ensemble to accompany the Phatty.

The Shoes

The iconic Creeper first emerged in the 1940s and was eventually reinterpreted by Rihanna’s fashion finesse. This latest iteration goes to extremes with an oversized extra-cushioned design, raised rubber crepe sole and intense pops of colour ─ black and white, extra-bright blue and green, and lovely lavender and cherry red iterations are available. Enveloped in luxurious suede, featuring a cushioned and imprinted formstrip, a debossed Fenty logo adorning the tongue, complemented by laces with golden aglets, and completed with a stacked gum sole, it’s bolder than ever.

The Outfit

The outfit of the day keeps pace with the Phatty, going for elements of extra sprinkled liberally throughout, and combinations of interesting shapes, eye-catching colours and heightened textures. At the base comes a pair of lovely lilac leggings made from mesh, for an extra layer of warmth and texture. Then an A-line leather midi skirt gives a grounding and purpose to the funky shades and textures, echoing the stability provided by the stacked sole of the Creepers.

Up top a chunky mohair jumper shows the power of simplicity within subtly interesting details, like slightly exaggerated puff sleeves which lend it a more unique silhouette. Next, a shining statement piece ─ this lively feather-trim crop top in lustrous lavender satin. Feel free to experiment with this one, seeing if you want to layer it over or underneath the sweater…. Practical perhaps not, but it definitely offers a sensational style experience. Finish up with a delightful funnel neck puffer jacket in a rich shade of mauve. Just because the gloom of winter is approaching, doesn’t mean your outfits have to be boring ─ opting for colour, fun and an extra dash of flair keeps things interesting and uplifted. 

The Accessories

Accessories here were curated to continue the theme, going big in terms of style and specialness. An oval pair of pink sunglasses with silver hardware detailing make a prominent statement, especially when coupled with this pink and paisley crochet knit hat with dangling detailings that bring an element of movement to the whole outfit. Then, a pearl necklace with chain-link detailing perfectly balances the grace and grunge dichotomy. A compact cherry red leather wallet complements the splash of the same shade in the sneakers and a shearling clutch purse in a beautiful lavender drops one last material into the mix while its pearl features align with the necklace hanging above.
