The AFCON is the biennial tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and as the continent’s premier football tournament. Dating back to 1957, it has evolved into a spectacular event that unites national teams from across Africa in a battle for the championship. This year, 24 teams will engage in fierce competition. Drawn into six groups of four, the top two from each group, along with the four highest-ranked third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16. From there, the tournament takes a thrilling journey through knockout phases, ultimately determining the champion.
This year marks the 34th edition and is set to take place from January 13th to February 11th, 2024. The tournament will be hosted by the Ivory Coast for the second time in history. The matches will be spread across six stadiums in five host cities: Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pédro, and Yamoussoukro.

AFCON x PUMA: writing football history
AFCON is not just a tournament; it’s a stage for African football teams to showcase their extraordinary talent at the highest level. At PUMA, we’ve been an integral part of this journey, with supporting African national teams since the 1970s and watching our teams achieving remarkable successes. In the last eight competitions, PUMA teams secured the title five times, and each of those five finals was a PUMA showdown. This year, we are thrilled to announce that six PUMA teams – Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Ghana, and Guinea – will be taking center stage at the upcoming AFCON.
