February 21, 20244th times the charm ─ PUMA and Noah’s fourth iteration is driven by a passion for sportsmanship and channels the chill of an off-duty athlete. Effortlessly nostalgic, the drop illustrates the duo’s shared passion to reshape American sportswear through an inclusive range of footwear, apparel items and accessories that are ready to become your new wardrobe staples. Step into the world of PUMA and Noah yet again with these two impeccable outfits inspired by the latest launch.
The Shoes
Really hitting their stride in terms of footwear, the collaboration is keeping us on our toes. It purposely introduces the PUMA Arizona, paired with a vintage-inspired Wrestling Boot. The Arizona boasts a sweet cashmere-suede upper in navy blue complemented by a striking leather Formstrip in powder blue and a gum outsole. Dual PUMA and Noah logos grace the lace shroud of the Arizona.
Meanwhile, the snug high-top Wrestling Boot, crafted in neutral shades of grey and white, showcases leather overlays on its upper, accented with gold PUMA lettering on the collar and dual logos on the tongue for a distinctive look.
The Outfit(s)
For this launch, the seasoned collaborators deliver a co-branded set of nostalgia-infused apparel items. Noah’s Brendon Babenzien drew inspiration for the collection from a 2002 photo of wrestler Hudson Taylor, captured by renowned sports photographer Collier Schorr. This collaboration also includes a DIY-focused campaign, conceptualized by Schorr herself.
For the lookbook, Schorr embraced the collection’s target audience of “the off-duty athlete,” photographing models in settings like locker rooms and vacant gymnasiums, reflecting the pre and post-game environments. Notably, Taylor, the subject of the original photo, is the founder of Athlete Ally, an organization dedicated to combating homophobia and transphobia in collegiate sports. Straddling sport and art throughout his career, this inclusive approach is echoed in PUMA and Noah’s new line.
The first outfit starts with a pair of simple black sweatpants from the lines, stamped with subtle graphics that reference the range. Up top comes the jet sleeve jersey top with contrast rib knit inserts on the sleeves. A striped knitted jumper in soft blues, greys, and white, emulates the blue wave on the Formstrip in the sneakers. A matching baby buttoned shirt jacket is a casual outer layer that beckons spring trends.
The second outfit essentially begins (and ends) with the iconic six-pocketed cotton Dungarees from the line. Made from cotton twill, they’re as wholesome as they are stylish. A super sleek black blouse comes below, with cut-out detailing along the shoulders that echo the inserts in the sleeves of the tee seen in the first look. In merino wool and with an open back detail, it pops out beneath the dungarees to unexpectedly raise the stakes. Then wrap yourself up with the sherpa-lined coach’s jacket plucked from the collection. Diamond quilting inside sleeves, front snap button closure, and printed graphic on back come together for an elegantly stylish finishing touch.
The Accessories
Deepen into the aesthetic with a few carefully curated accessories. Look number one is undramatic but on point with the cold weather cycling cap from the collection including printed PUMA logo on the visor and multi-coloured rib knit on the back panel. Rectangular gold-tone tinted sunglasses perched off the nose twinkle against the gold and turquoise of the gemstone pendant necklace. A rainbow messenger bag finishes, feeling very on-theme.
The second outfit stands out in monochrome ─ a subtle cap in white on top, rectangle-frame rimless glasses, black stainless steel watch and an ivory geometric print knitted scarf to stay cozy. Finally, the duffel bag from the drop snaps things together with sleek printed graphics on both side panels and co-branding logos, plus removable and adjustable shoulder strap.
