PUMA and Bumble Team Up for Unique Singles Run in Bengaluru
November 18, 2024PUMA and Bumble Team Up for Unique Singles Run in Bengaluru
November 18, 2024In a bold move that transformed the dating landscape in India, PUMA India joined forces with the dating app Bumble to create a one-of-a-kind event that merged the excitement of sports with the thrill of meeting new people. Just ahead of Singles’ Day, PUMA & Bumble introduced a singles-only running event that offered young adults an invigorating way to connect in person.
On November 10th, PUMA India and Bumble orchestrated a remarkable 3KM Run for Singles in Bengaluru, and it became an event to remember. Over 250 participants, aged 21-35, hit the ground running early in the morning, completing a 3km loop through the city. This wasn’t just any run; it was a chance for real, face-to-face connections to blossom, moving beyond the usual swipe culture.
Following the energizing run, the day continued with a vibrant social mixer featuring breakfast at a trendy café-bar. The atmosphere was electric, conversations flowed freely, and connections formed organically through activities like speed-dating. To build anticipation, eye-catching ads, boldly proclaiming “Ready to Run (Into their arms?)” were displayed all over Bengaluru, adding a playful touch to the event’s promotion.

⚠️ Millennials and Gen Z thrive on immersive social interactions. In India, shared interest in sports has become a significant factor in forming connections among young adults. According to a Bumble survey, nearly 72% of singles are open to sports-themed first dates, and 44% consider a lack of interest in sports a dealbreaker.
“With the growth of sports documentaries and international competitions, sports is playing a bigger role in how we connect so it’s not surprising that it’s also showing up in a big way in dating. Our research shows that for 1 in 3 single Indians, a shared love of sports has now become a ‘must have’ regardless of whether they actively participate in sports or just watch it. This reflects a changing approach amongst singles to fit their dating life into their personal lives, focusing on turning what they already enjoy into a date instead of treating dates as a separate activity. We’re excited to partner with PUMA India to bring this to life with a singles run that allows our Bumble community to meet like-minded people in a relaxed and fun setting, reducing the pressures often associated with dating.“
