Hello Kitty and Friends are teaming up for a nostalgic, watercolor-infused collection brimming with character(s). PUMA and Sanrio have come together for a whimsical new collaboration that blends retro charm with the dreamy hues of LA’s golden-hour skies. Inspired by these eye-catching colours and the array of personalities, we’ve put together a pair of looks – one little and one large – to showcase the collection’s signature styles and timeless vibes.

The Shoes

The collection’s pastel-hued footwear brings Hello Kitty, her sweet friend My Melody, and her rebellious frenemy Kuromi into the spotlight. The colour scheme nods to the playful, bubblegum pop aesthetic of the early 2000s, with fun doodle designs. Today’s first look steps forward in comfort with the classic PUMA Palermos. This special version of the familiar footwear features a signature T-toe and classic rubber sole along with a dyed textile upper, My Melody branding and SOFTFOAM+ cushioning to keep those little feet comfortable all day long.

Then Kuromi’s signature edge shines in the Puma Suede XL – available in two distinct styles: vibrant pink or understated black. Pictured here in sleek black, the sneakers keep it subtle yet chic, with delicate Puma x Hello Kitty and Friends branding along the dark and distinctive suede upper.

The Outfit(s)

The chronology of the collection follows Hello Kitty as she roller-skates along the California coast, featuring glitter, bold prints, and a mix of oversized and ultra-fitted pieces. This time Hello Kitty also brings her friends – My Melody and Kuromi – along for the ride. Today’s outfits take inspiration from the franchise’s signature contrasts in the form of My Melody’s ultra-sweet charm and Kuromi’s mischievous edge.

The first look, designed for the little trendsetters, channels the lovable My Melody. Introduced by Sanrio in 1975, she quickly won hearts with her kind spirit and signature pink hood, making her an enduring favourite among fans. Naturally, the bubble gum pink hoodie from the collection was an obvious choice to set the tone for this outfit. Paired with this comfy exterior comes the ribbed tank and matching flared leggings with tonal allover print and accommodating elastic waistband. An ultra-soft lilac jean jacket completes the harmonious ensemble.

The second look, for the big kids, embodies the rebellious aspect of Kuromi who, despite the punk appearance, has an undeniable femininity. Flashback to the ‘00s and you’ll see a world of itty bitty pieces, such as this trendy baby tee in black (inspired by Hello Kitty’s signature childlike style). We’ve paired this iconic piece with a relaxed knit maxi skirt from the drop, featuring windCELL technology, designed to shield against the breeze while keeping you comfortable on the move. For extra versatility, the dynamic purple skirt unzips into a mini, effortlessly shifting from laid-back to bold. The final touch is a unique semi-sheer jacket in lavender that attunes to the skirt and brings a bit more flavour to the look.

The Accessories

The first outfit tops off with the multi-toned trucker hat from the collection, a sweet bow appearing on the back of the mesh exterior. Perfectly coordinating with the rest, the lightweight backpack from the series finishes it off. 

The second outfit goes a little harder with bits and bobs. From toes to tips this time: iconic PUMA slouchy socks make their comeback, peeking out in alternating purples above classic Suedes. Then the sleek black hobo side bag from the collection feels like a clear pick, with delicate bows tucked discreetly beneath the back flap for an unexpected touch of softness. Jewellery-wise we stay on theme with a bright pink heart motif ring, a purple-face watch with transparent band (details that are reminiscent of the semi-sheer jacket), and a flashy gold cable link chain with a heart pendant. Rose-tinted glasses with gold hardware bring some sass and a crocheted bucket hat in a perfect shade of purple ties it all together.
