Step into a world of Saturday morning nostalgia with the latest MB.03 release. In collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products and the Cartoon Network classic Dexter’s Laboratory, the innovative MB.03 x Dexter’s Laboratory showcases striking graphics and textured dayglo details, drawing inspiration from the boy genius for a truly bold design. With this in mind, we put together a groovy, vintage-inspired outfit to accompany the new shoe.

The Shoes

The MB.03 x Dexter’s Laboratory introduces one of its more daring colorways in the vivid and trippy technicolor pattern running across the exterior overlay. Beneath and along the lace unit, the pair showcases an equally mesmerizing hypnotic print, with a black-on-white aesthetic that harmonizes with the strings and splattered sole. Paying homage to the series, references are skillfully integrated onto the front and back of the tongue, which features laboratory equipment and images of Dexter and Dee Dee, plus cool co-branding on the heel.

This striking silhouette is infused with PUMA technology, such as NITROFOAM™ for added power on the court, in the lab, or wherever your feet may take you. Further enhancing performance, the bold sneaker incorporates a fully covered engineered nonslip rubber compound for heightened durability and traction. The upper construction is also crafted with breathable monomesh, providing an ultra-supportive and lightweight fit.

The Outfit

In what could be considered the channel’s golden age, the Cartoon Network cooked up numerous iconic cartoons, many of which remain culturally relevant to this day ─ or at least ensure a nice trip down memory lane. The outfit of the day expands on this feeling, exuding 90s nostalgia and funky genius vibes in order to keep in stride with the shoes. 

On the base, a pair of high-rise straight-leg blue jeans gives an immediate dose of classic Americana to start things off. Then comes a silk and satin button-up with abstract argyle print, playing off the trippy patterning in the MB.03s. A crystal-embellished wool cardigan (best left undone to show-off the button-up below) synchronizes with the sparkly splotches on the sneakers’ soles, and a padded powder pink bomber jacket finishes things off with a quirky yet on-trend outerwear approach.

The Accessories

The outfit’s accompaniments don’t take themselves too seriously ─ after all we’re styling based on a cartoon here. A houndstooth scarf with a warped pattern plays off the psychedelic black and white swirls seen on the sneaker’s tongue, while a simple silver necklace layers into the vintage aesthetic. A unique black one-shoulder backpack is an updated approach to an essential, giving the look a contemporary flair. Finally purple knit cashmere gloves and clear, rectangular-frame glasses are cheeky references to the character of Dexter … cosplay but make it chic.
