PUMA x 8ENJAMIN

PUMA and artist-slash-designer 8enjamin join forces for a skate-inspired collection infused with playful pastels and a nostalgic old-school feel. Exploring the interplay between sportswear silhouettes and contemporary designs, the series is composed of cheerful kaleidoscopic patterns and funky graphics. We’ve styled two modern looks that each incorporate ingredients of the slick series.

The Shoes

To introduce the shoes from the collab it’s first necessary to introduce Fluzz (aka the alter-ego of the artist): a sneaker-loving pastel cloud that is the main character featured on apparel and footwear in the collection. Fluzz’s personality informs and inspires the Suede and Slipstream sneakers, two of the artist’s favourite PUMA footwear options.

In the first look, the Slipstream is featured with a tonal white colorway that emphasizes pops of purple and pink, accompanied by fluffy laces on top. The second outfit stars the reimagined Suede ─ this time with a light pink upper, those same overstated laces, and a custom Fluzz hangtag.

Both shoes come packaged in a special shoe box that doubles as a collectable art piece.

The Outfit(s)

8enjamin is both an artist and in-house designer on the PUMA team, and his work is characterized by the use of vibrant colour with an applied feeling of movement and action. Today’s skate-inspired series showcases relaxed fits and psychedelic prints splashed over adorned hoodies, T-shirts and shorts.

Outfit one boasts the mesh shorts from the line, exposing an all-over tie-dye pattern in vibrant orange, purple, and green. Up top, the playful pastel tee is slightly more of an understatement, still featuring a funky Fluzz graphic mid-kickflip. Finishing off this skate-ready look, comes the French terry hoodie, comfortable and cool and perfect for any occasion.

The second outfit also stuck with shorts on the bottom, this time a baggy pair in knee-length denim with a drawstring waist for that trendy laidback feel. Continuing with that vibe, the relaxed fit graphic tee from the collection, in black with a colourful cartoon on the chest, gives casual composure.

The Accessories

The chosen accessories are made to fit the skatepark or out on the streets, meaning they’re both functional and stylish. Starting from the top, both looks led with the reversible bucket hat from the collection, the first opting to show off the awesome psychedelic print that matches the shorts, and the second going for the softer lavender option; each displays the puffy, cartoonish branding from the artist with a whimsical nod to old-school skating culture.

Outfit one is completed by a fittingly whimsical black leather ‘croissant’ shoulder bag, paired with a gradient effect pair of socks with tones that match the tones in the sneakers and a polished pair of aviator shades.

The second outfit is rounded off by the tote bag from the collection ─ large enough to store all the essentials but fashionable enough to look good doing so. Then it finishes up with some gorgeously subtle jewelry in gold and aqua blue, matching both the bag and the graphic splayed on the tee.

PUMA picks a pastel colour palette to demonstrate some slick tricks in this creative new collab with artist and designer 8enjamin. An empowering expression, the artist uses colour and illustration to radiate a positivity that pays homage to nostalgic skateboarding aesthetics.
