Mercedes-AMG F1 and PUMA have launched a cutting-edge collection by Mad Dog Jones that beautifully blends style, performance, and motorsport. Inspired by the concept of the Thermal Vision of Miami ─ bright, neon colors and dynamic lighting evoking the sensation of Miami’s heat and energy ─ the collection captures the city’s vibrant tones and electrifying atmosphere. With this in mind, we’ve styled an effortless urban look influenced by items from the launch.

The Shoes

Designed to invoke the gritty excitement and intense speed of motorsport at the moment of rubber meeting race track, there are a few footwear features available this time. Among them are the archival revival of the favourite terrace shoe Palermo in ultraviolet and white, as well as the smooth Leadcat sandal slides.

The clear winner for today’s outfit is the Spirex’. Drawing inspiration from PUMA’s Icons of Speed, the Spirex is a cutting-edge runner crafted for daring streetwear enthusiasts. Its design merges elements from PUMA’s performance archives, creating a contemporary Futro form that fits perfectly into the vibe of today’s outfit. 

The Outfit

The collection’s apparel represent a converging of worlds: the legacy of motorsport meeting contemporary art amidst the backdrop of sportstyle heritage. The first pick for this look are the woven shorts from the line that fall just below the knee. Rich black with vivid colors splashed on front and back, they harmonize with the woven jacket which comes with a convenient (and cool) kangaroo pouch. With an infusion of the sleek aerodynamism reminiscent of motorsport, each item echoes the thrilling speed and adrenaline-charged atmosphere of the racetrack. 

Below the statement jacket, the easygoing black hoodie with nonchalant co-branding keeps it casual and cosy. Then for a base, the look combines a sleek black turtleneck long sleeve with the fresh white t-shirt on top for a classy retro-futurism feel. Simple on the front, the back displays an attention-grabbing helmet-clad driver ready to race.

 The Accessories 

The accompaniments were meticulously selected to further the allure of the racetrack in a wearable way. Geometric black sunglasses are giving “practical with a sense of style”, while the braided black titanium bracelet and pleated black belt bag subtly add texture without drawing attention away from the more vivid items in the outfit. Speaking of vivid: the special edition Lewis Hamilton Miami Cap on top completes things with that same intense contrasting seen in the shoes, shorts and jacket, displaying the Mercedes Star on front and PUMA cat on the back as reference to its roots.
