An epic pairing deserves an encore ─ PUMA and Rhuigi have just released the second part of their limited-edition capsule that celebrates Americana classics. A coast-to-coast collaboration bridging from LA to NYC, items from the collection served as inspiration for today’s outfits, all dressed up in nostalgic fashion references and iconic Americana additions.

The Shoes

Framing itself around American varsity and specifically drawing inspiration from the bustling big city that never sleeps, for footwear the collab offers a fresh take on the PUMA Slipstreams. This updated rendition is a star player in the second outfit, with a mixture of off-white leather and suede completed by subtle green detailing. Its rather chunky silhouette and fat rope laces give a wholesome, nostalgic feel to the classic sneaker.

Celebrating the melting pot of urban culture and rich diversity that is NYC, all while infusing Rhuigi Villaseñor’s unique design commentary on West Coast culture and freshness, this second part of the capsule collection features three incredibly well-executed items in a timeless green and cream color scheme. Paying homage to the fashion of the Big Apple and varsity athletics, we’ve styled two looks that blend concepts of Americana classics and contemporary street style trends.

The first look revolves around the dark green Varsity Jacket from the drop. The ideal statement piece for urban spring looks, it features the words ‘New York Worldwide’ splashed on a patch on the back, and a sweet reminder that ‘The World is Yours’ in yellow embroidery on the breast. Button-up closure on the front plays with contrasting detailing on the shoulders. Overall, the relaxed cut gives a nonchalant edge to the look. Beneath comes a soft cream long-sleeve dress with an asymmetrical hemline to add interest for the eye. Then, to give a bit more shape to the look, a black leather corset top with zip-up closure is worn over the dress and under the jacket, just barely peeking through.
