The Shoes
The footwear lineup in PUMA’s Squid Game team is where storytelling meets style. The Easy Rider pays homage to the show’s iconic “red light, green light” moment with scratch-off green panels that unveil a vivid red underneath. It even has a holographic heel that also shifts from red to green, while a Young-hee doll hangtag adds a playfully eerie touch. Meanwhile, in case you want options, the Squid Game Suede draws inspiration from the series’ sinister stairwell, incorporating vibrant colour pops and bold zig-zag overlays for a look as dynamic as the show.
The Outfit
It’s no surprise that Squid Game has claimed the crown as Netflix’s most-watched show ever. From the moment season one dropped, its aesthetic took on a life of its own, going viral for good reason. Pastels and neons, bright primary colours, geometric shapes, and retro ‘80s athletic wear ─ the vibrant palette meets unsettling sets and unforgettable visuals, making it as haunting as it is stunning. PUMA now brings these elements into your wardrobe with a capsule inspired by this world, including velour tracksuits inspired by the infamous uniforms worn by the contests and graphic tees referencing the show’s lore.
Gathering motivation from the launch we’ve styled an outfit that claims the same palette while nodding to trends in South Korean fashion, to pay homage to the show’s cultural setting. For example, this magenta turtleneck dress nails the retro maximalism of the whole ordeal (and looks a little like the guard’s jumpsuits in the series) while being a vague reminiscence of the traditional hanbok dress. Shifting gears into more sporty vibes, next comes the distressed hoodie in that infamous green, with soft fleece fabric and ribbed cuffs and hem for added comfort. We finish up with the standout down jacket from the collection which combines cutting-edge windCELL and warmCELL technology, delivering warmth and protection for colder days. Its sleek, functional design channels the tech-forward, innovative energy synonymous with South Korean fashion trends, blending practicality with a modern, versatile edge.
The Accessories
When it comes to accessorizing, no one does it better than K-drama characters, and although Squid Game is an international hit we’ve still gone ahead and carefully chosen some finishing touches to elevate the aspect of drama in the look. Gold pendant earrings with stones correspond to the green tones of the outfit (and the opulence of the VIPs in the series) while complementing geometric magenta glasses. A bright magenta scarf delivers another pop of colour and additional warmth. Seamless black satin stockings are at odds with the more structured minimalism of the black cap in a way that adds rather than subtracts from either element. Finally, the eye-catching backpack from the collection with those same red and green tones flashes that cute-yet-sinister Young-hee doll hangtag, rounding off this ultra-fan ensemble.
