December 1, 2022The ball is rolling at the FIFA World Cup and our 6 federations playing in PUMA are doing well. For fans and supporters we have styled the jerseys of the teams. The result: six cool lifestyle outfits. Check them out! Maybe they are an inspiration for you.
The 2022 PUMA Federation Home Kits put a modern spin on some nostalgic sports moments. Using this momentum we’re going for a fresh take on classic football sportstyle vibes as we celebrate the 2022 FIFA world tournament with a fashionable face-off between champions.
The new jerseys come in two iterations: an authentic jersey featuring ULTRAWEAVE performance fabric and dryCELL sweat-wicking technology, and a replica jersey made with recycled polyester plus that dryCELL tech to keep you dry and comfortable.
We styled six unique looks that celebrate the countries participating in the championships.
Switzerland
The Suisse Home jersey is a classic that has been reimagined for a new era, honoring the players that brought Switzerland back to the big stage in world football back in the 90’s.
So the matching outfit is clean, simple and classy, an homage to the superb sense of Swiss style. The bright red and white jersey purposely pops against primarily monochrome accompaniments with an overall minimalistic feel. An elegant black cashmere sweater pairs with quality blue jeans and is completed by a black leather belt, classic PUMA cap and a chic single-breasted wool coat. Crisp white sneakers flash at the base ─ ready, set, match!
Uruguay
The Uruguay Home jersey is a retro item inspired by the original global triumph of Uruguay footballers in 1924. La Celeste golden era of world champions! Today’s accompanying outfit is inspired by the country’s fondness for bold colours, boho patterns and edgy free flow.
Aside from the jersey, in a lovely soft blue, comes a pair of quirky patterned cotton-corduroy trousers, an oversize vintage hoodie, a bright woven wool beanie and a modern black leather messenger bag. A silver and turquoise pendant necklace flashes out and a serene pair of blue Suedes ground a look that is effortlessly cool ─ clearly fit for a champion.
Serbia
The 2022 Serbia Home jersey honors the Golden Eaglets, the 2015 U-20 Champions of the World. The brand-new federation emblem is complemented by a retro-inspired design with golden accents that celebrate the historic triumph.
The accompanying look is also retro made anew, inspired by the dizelaši fashion style that was popular in the ‘90s and is now making a comeback in Serbia. This outfit showcases a love of tracksuits for the sake of fashion. Here an iconic red PUMA tracksuit serves classic sportstyle vibes while a soft blue distressed denim jacket completes the look for a finishing edge of streetwear.
Ghana
Old-school Ghana meets new-school cool in the Ghana Home jersey, inspired by iconic moments from national team history. A Black Star sits at center stage (the symbol of the national team) while flashy sleeve cuffs flaunt the colors of the national flag.
The rest of the outfit goes for a more traditional and earthy feel, while still honouring the passionately trendy Ghanese fashion scene. A sporty pair of black shorts form a versatile bottom layer, while a rather fancy silk shirt pairs with a soft green corduroy coat up top. Finish with some subtle yellow sunglasses and archival H.ST.20 PUMA sneakers that show off splashes of red, green and black and you’ve got all the colours of the Ghana National Football Team effortlessly celebrated in one look.
Morocco
The 90’s are now apparently. The Morocco Home jersey, inspired by the 1998 Atlas Lions, brings to life a classic look and delivers a retro theme perfect for the modern day.
Thus the accompanying outfit runs with this uber cool nostalgic vibe. A contemporary take on traditional Moroccan harem pants (comfy, voluminous and super stylish) form the foundation of the look. Then a loose long sleeve sweater with funky abstract print and a retro-inspired pair of PUMA loafers build outwards. Finish up with a traditional leather duffel bag (a nod to Morocco’s thriving leather industry) and a timeless pair of aviators with gold elements and you’re ready to score.
Senegal
Senegal gets groovy with this Home jersey that celebrates its national legends. In the opening match of the 2002 World Championship, Senegal served the world an iconic moment in football history as they took over from the reigning champions; their celebratory dance routine became part of football folklore.
Inspired by this era of sportstyle and proud moment of expression, the accompanying outfit is confident and cool in monochrome ─ white sweats, a crisp white hoodie and a sporty off-white gilet forms the basis of the look (and lets the Senegalese Football team colours pop out from the jersey). Final elements include a rich green beanie, PUMA Suedes in that same shade and a handsome green and gold necklace with vintage vibes.
