Women have been rocking basketball jerseys for years – taking men’s pieces, styling them their own way, and making them theirs.
That’s exactly where the inspiration for the PUMA Hoops JER-SHE began. It was time to create a jersey specifically for women while keeping the classic basketball silhouette intact.
But getting it right wasn’t easy!
Matching the same shade of a color can be tricky when you're working with different materials in the same garment – it meant working through countless samples to get it just right. Also PUMA Hoops is known for bold colours and loud prints, but this time the team opted for a sleek, understated vibe. That was definitely a challenge. It’s a blank canvas, but loud in details!
Let’s talk about the details Megan mentioned:
The trim on the armhole and neckline features a graphic inspired by the iconic PUMA formstrip, creating a sharp, dynamic pattern keeping the PUMA elements.
The jersey’s badge draws from the England women’s national team – an iridescent finish that catches the light and adds a premium touch.
The chrome PUMA graphic on the front? Straight fire – futuristic and unapologetically bold.
The jersey also features an all-over Jacquard-inspired print flowing across the mesh, adding depth and movement with dynamic linear forms.
And then there’s the special badge. It’s all about respect — equal respect – highlighted by the number 1973, a nod to the year PUMA Basketball was born.
The jersey isn’t flying solo. It comes with matching shorts that carry the same design language, making it ready for both the streets and the court.
We wanted the jersey to not only be a fashion piece but also a functional piece!
Megan’s style tip for her JER-SHE! 🔥
The PUMA Hoops JER-SHE is a great piece to layer with that, so style it with a long sleeve with lots of prints and color. Pair it with some oversized baggy pants and finish the look with lots of jewelry.
My favorite aspect of the jersey design is that it's super versatile. It was designed that you can wear it and style it however you want. With its sleek design, it stands beautifully on its own, yet also makes a perfect complement for layering. You can wear it in different ways!
