October 14, 2024At PUMA, we believe in pushing boundaries and stepping out of our comfort zones. This is why we are proud to support Nedd Brockmann’s Uncomfortable Challenge, a remarkable running endeavor that carries our spirit of determination and resilience.
Nedd Brockmann is an extraordinary athlete known for his pursuit of breaking records and making a difference. Nedd has captured the attention of the running community with his former feats of endurance. He first gained recognition in 2020 when he ran 50 marathons in 50 days. Two years later, he ran across Australia from Perth to Sydney in just 47 days, covering nearly 4,000 kilometers.
Now, with his Uncomfortable Challenge from October 3rd, Nedd has been attempting to break the fastest ever 1,000-mile record by running approximately 160 kilometers each day for 10 days at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
What is the Uncomfortable Challenge?
Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge is not just about breaking records; it’s about raising awareness and funds for a greater cause. Besides running 1000 miles in 10 days, Nedd aims to raise $10 million for the homelessness charity We Are Mobilise.
How’s it going?
On October 10th, Nedd has hit the 1,000-kilometer mark, although the journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. In his daily updates on Instagram and TikTok he and his team share his progress and the physical and mental challenges he faces. While Nedd is running in the MagMax NITRO – his PUMA NITRO of choice, where he is normally a US 9.5 he has recently his feet have swollen three sizes so he required a size 12 shoe, due to the rain and track!
“The feet are sore, the body is tired, but the spirit is strong. We’re doing this for those who need it most”.
On the 10th day, Nedd cleared 1426 km, and even if the record is gone, Nedd is not done yet.
“I still have a job to do, get that 1600, and raise the big bucks. We are opening the stadium tomorrow at 7 pm for one hour for my final full day. I would be honoured to see as many of you there as possible.“
