The PLAYSEAT x PUMA game seat made its first major appearance at the Vodafone 5G ESL Mobile Open tournament finals at Milan Games Week. Professional mobile players, gaming influencers and fans got to test the mobile gaming seat and experienced its complete freedom of movement.

The seat was not only introduced to the professional players in expert sessions, but also to all other gaming enthusiasts who visited the event. Everyone who visited the free-to-play area in the course of the three-day gaming exhibition, was able to try the PLAYSEAT x PUMA game seat.

PUMA’s innovation team and Dutch gaming accessories company PLAYSEAT studied gamers and esports athletes carefully and realised that mobile and console gamers often had nowhere to sit but the floor. The PLAYSEAT x PUMA game seat, which was first presented earlier this year in Cologne, allows gamers to maintain an active, correct sitting position.

“When you lay back, it’s very comfortable, it’s almost like it snugs you up a bit, which is very good in games that require a lot of stability,” said Asphalt 9 gamer Ryan Ketley during one of the expert sessions. “I find it very helpful in that aspect.”

“It is a really nice sensation,” said professional gamer Florian “oNio” Roschu. “I always try to get in a certain position while playing, so this seat is great for people who play like me.”

The Vodafone 5G ESL Mobile Open finals also offered the possibility for PUMA to showcase its brand-new gaming sock, straight from the drawing board of PUMA Innovation to meet unmet needs in the gaming and esports community.

“We observed gamers and saw that while they were competing, they took off their shoes and kicked them under the table,” said Charles Johnson, PUMA’s Global Director of Innovation. “We had to do something about that.”

The result is a lightweight gaming sock, halfway between a fitness shoe and a sock, which delivers comfort and exact support and grip adapted to the different game scenarios.

Ryan Ketley on the gaming socks: “At home I train with socks on, and these gaming socks would remind me of my training sensation, which makes it easier to perform in tournament situations.”
