May 20, 2020During Mental Health Awareness month, PUMA Hoops has teamed up with The Trevor Project, the world’s largest crisis intervention and suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ young people. The outcome of their debut collection is a new shoe called the Sky Modern Trevor Project.
Especially during this tough time, being stuck at home without the people who support you, LGBTQ youth may be vulnerable to negative mental health impacts. That’s what makes it crucial to have organizations taking care of mental health and help affected people. The Trevor Project has specialized in providing free crisis counseling to LGBTQ youth across the United States. The partnership between The Trevor Project and PUMA is a multi-year partnership aimed at promoting and supporting LGBTQ youth participation in sports.
PUMA Hoops ambassadors Kyle Kuzma, Chris Brickley, Walt “Clyde” Frazier and Michael Porter Jr. came together to help raise awareness for The Trevor Project and to share strategies on how to deal with the current situation.
The project features American professional basketball player Katie Lou Samuelson, who shared her personal story during an exclusive interview about overcoming depression and anxiety. Now, she’s using her platform as an athlete and PUMA Hoops ambassador to encourage others to find help by turning to great organizations like The Trevor Project.
The Sky Modern Trevor Project features all the tech and flash PUMA Hoops is known for including ProFoam midsole cushioning. The best thing about the shoes: 100 percent of the sales from the shoe will benefit The Trevor Project.
