PUMA Athletes Set to Shine at the Paralympics 2024 in Paris

As the Paralympics 2024  kick off, excitement is building for our squad of PUMA Para athletes who will be competing in Paris. We are proud to have a strong representation with 5 female and 11 male track and field athletes qualified for the games this year. We will see our athletes will compete in various sports classes, showcasing their PUMA speed and spirit on and off the track. Read on to get the insights!

The diverse range of sports classes our athletes will participate in includes T11-13 for visual impairment, T36-38 for coordination impairments, T47 for upper limb impairments, and T64 for lower limb impairments.

Watch out for these athletes!

  • Omara Durand from Cuba, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events (T12).
  • Mandy Francois Elie from France, competing in the 100m, 200m, and Long Jump events (T37).
  • Marlene van Gansewinkel from the Netherlands, competing in the 100m, 200m, and Long Jump events (T64).
  • Anna Grimaldi from New Zealand, competing in the 100m and Long Jump events (T47).
  • Adiaratou Iglesias from Spain, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events (T13).
  • Felix Streng from Germany, competing in the 100m and 200m events (T64).
  • Salum Ageze Kashafali from Norway, competing in the 100m and 200m events (T12).

Earlier this week, our athletes gathered at the MOB House in Paris for a special PUMA welcome dinner, toasting to a successful two weeks of para-athletics. This event was a wonderful opportunity for our athletes to bond and set the tone for the exciting days ahead.

We are looking forward to some key highlights of the event schedule:

  • 30th August:
    • Morning: Yankiel in Long Jump Final, Salum & Zac in 100m Round 1, Yassine in 5000m Final.
    • Evening: William in Long Jump Final, Timothée in 100m Final, Marlene in 100m Final.
  • 31st August:
    • Morning: Yassine in 1500m Round 1, Mandy in 100m Final.
    • Evening: Renaud in 1500m Final, Nick in 100m Final.
  • 1st September:
    • Morning: Anna in Long Jump Final, Marlene in 200m Round 1.
    • Evening: Omara in 100m Round 1, Adiaratou in 400m Final.
  • 2nd September:
    • Morning: Timothée in 100m Round 1, Marlene in Long Jump Final.
    • Evening: Omara in 100m Final, Mandy in 200m Final.
  • 3rd September:
    • Morning: Adiaratou in 100m Round 1, Nick in Long Jump Final.
    • Evening: Omara in 200m Round 1, Timothée in 400m Semi-Final
  • 4th September:
    • Morning: William in 400m Final, Mandy in 200m Round 1.
    • Evening: Omara in 400m Final, Felix, Levi & Maxcel in 200m Round 1.
  • 5th September:
    • Morning: Timothée in 400m Round 1, Anna in 100m Round 1.
    • Evening: Salum & Zac in 100m Semi-Final, Timothée in 400m Final.
  • 6th September:
    • Morning: Omara in 400m Round 1, Felix & Maxcel in 100m Round 1.
    • Evening: Mandy in 100m Round 1, Felix & Maxcel in 100m Final.
  • 7th September:
    • Morning: Adiaratou in 400m Round 1.
    • Evening: Felix, Levi & Maxcel in 200m Final, Salum & Zac in 100m Final.
