PUMA Athletes secure 22 medals, showcasing unmatched talent, and determination.

Held every four years, the Paralympic Games, a major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, showcases the incredible talents and determination of competitors from around the world. From sprints to long jumps, PUMA athletes dominated the track and field events at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, showcasing their excellence and the brand’s significant impact on the world of sports and  collecting an impressive total of 22 medals.

7x Gold

 

The recent Paralympic Games were a spectacular demonstration of talent, with PUMA athletes stealing the spotlight by clinching seven gold medals.

Guillermo Varona Gonzalez from Cuba set a new Area Record (AR) in the Javelin (F46) with a throw of 66.14 meters.

Omara Durand Elias, also from Cuba, dazzled the track with three gold medals in the 100m (T12) at 11.81 seconds, the 200m (T12) at 23.62 seconds, and the 400m (T12) at 53.59 seconds.

New Zealand’s Anna Grimaldi sprinted to victory in the 200m (T47), setting an AR with a time of 24.72 seconds.

Cuba’s Robiel Yankiel Sol Cervantes soared to a gold in the Long Jump (T46) with a leap of 7.41 meters.

Finally, Spain’s Yassine Ouhdadi El Ataby triumphed in the 5000m (T13), finishing in 15:50.64.

Omara Durand Elías

9x Silver

 

PUMA athletes also shone brightly by securing nine silver medals.

Yamel Luis Vives Suares from Cuba set a new Area Record (AR) in the 100m (T44) with a time of 11.20 seconds.

Italy’s Maxcel Amo Manu sprinted to silver in the 100m (T64) at 10.76 seconds.

Levi Vloet from the Netherlands achieved a personal best (PB) in the 200m (T64) with a time of 22.47 seconds, while New Zealand’s William Stedman also set a PB in the 400m (T37) with a time of 52.92 seconds. 

France’s Timothée Adolphe earned two silvers in the 100m (T11) with a time of 11.05 seconds and the 400m (T11) at 50.75 seconds.

Salum Ageze Kashafali from Norway sprinted to silver in the 100m (T13) with a time of 10.47 seconds.

Finally, Marlene van Gansewinkel from the Netherlands showcased her versatility by winning two silvers in the 200m (T64) with a time of 26.14 seconds and the Long Jump (T64) with a leap of 5.87 meters.

6x Bronze

In addition to their gold and silver triumphs, PUMA athletes demonstrated their exceptional talent by securing six bronze medals.

Two silver medals were not enough, so Marlene van Gansewinkel sprinted to bronze in the 100m (T64) at 12.64 seconds.

Anna Grimaldi from New Zealand set a new Area Record (AR) in the 100m (T47) with a time of 12.20 seconds.

Cuba’s Ulicer Aguilera Cruz achieved an AR in the Javelin (F13) with a throw of 62.15 meters.

Zac Shaw from Great Britain secured bronze in the 100m (T12) with a time of 10.94 seconds.

Felix Streng from Germany earned his medal in the 100m (T64) at 10.77 seconds, and Simran Sharma from India completed the list with a bronze in the 200m (T12) at 24.75 seconds.
