March 7, 2023PUMA Closes Gender Pay Gap Between Women and Men, Analysis in Germany Confirms
March 7, 2023Happy international equal pay day! At PUMA, we are proud to announce that we have closed the adjusted pay gap between women and men among our employees in Germany. PUMA is the second company in Germany to receive the title “Universal Fair Pay Developer”, which is only given to companies that can show an adjusted gender pay gap of between +1 and -1%.
FPI Fair Pay Innovation Lab recognised the effort at PUMA to create a work environment free of gender discrimination. PUMA evaluates every position in a gender-neutral way, focussing on the characteristics of the job and not on those of individual employees. This also allows for us to have a standardised and transparent process for wage increases, and employees who are absent – including those on maternal leave or sabbaticals for example – also take part in this process. This helps avoid pay gaps!
There are different reasons for pay differences, and the adjusted pay gap takes these into account. This includes factors such as managerial responsibility, age, job role, employment status, evaluation and partial retirement.
“It is one of our strategic priorities to ensure that we pay a fair compensation without discrimination. We are very proud that our efforts to offer our employees a gender-neutral remuneration policy has been recognised by FPI Fair Pay Innovation Lab.”
