Block Party Extravaganza

PUMA and Manchester City kicked off the festivities with a spectacular ‘Block Party’ on 49th Street and 5th Avenue, rght next to our marvellous PUMA NYC Flagship Store. The event took place on a custom-built court where Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, Pep Guardiola, Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb enjoyed a basketball dunk show and other activities with 2x NBA Dunk Champion Mac McClung and special guests Chris Brickley, God Shammgod and Clyde Frazier. To celebrate the merging of cultures, PUMA and Manchester City also created bespoke Manchester City basketball jerseys in the Home and Away colours that were unveiled at the event.

To the fans’ entertainment, Jack Grealish was being put through some unique basketball drills by Mac McClung and Pep Guardiola joined a special Q&A for guests in attendance with God Shammgod, Chris Brickley and PUMA Icon and basketball legend Clyde Frazier.

Unveiling the Third Kit

The excitement continued with the official reveal of Manchester City’s 24/25 Third kit. The burgundy jersey with metallic gold trims symbolizes the club’s constant evolution and forward momentum. The launch event, part of Manchester City’s USA pre-season tour, included interactive fan experiences and special guest appearances. The new kit, available in both Authentic and Replica versions, features PUMA’s dryCELL technology and sustainable materials, reflecting the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

AC Milan’s Stylish Debut

AC Milan took center stage at Yankee Stadium with the debut of their 24/25 Away kit during a friendly match against Manchester City. In a surprising twist, the team switched from their Home kit to the new Away kit at halftime, delighting fans with its classic white design, red-and-black polo collar, and monochromatic crest. The new 24/25 Away kit comes in Authentic, worn by the players with PUMA’s ULTRAWEAVE technology for enhanced performance, and Replica, sporting a similar design but with a casual fit ideal for fans. Both feature dryCELL technology for moisture control. PUMA’s commitment to the environment is evident as the Replica shirts are part of the RE:FIBRE project, using at least 95% recycled textile waste, leading to more sustainable production of football attire. The kit combines elegance with cutting-edge performance technology, embodying the sophistication of Milanismo.

City and Milan for Change

The launch of the Milan Away kit was part of the broader “City and Milan for Change” initiative, a collaborative effort by AC Milan and Manchester City, supported by PUMA. The initiative focuses on giving back to the New York Community through various activities surrounding their fixture at Yankee Stadium. One highlight was a special joint community event in New Jersey on 26th July, which brought together over 60 boys and girls from the Success Academy Charter Schools Soccer Program, actively supported by Fondazione Milan since 2021, and children from the City in the Community (CITC) Soccerbloc program in Staten Island. The event featured participation from legends of both Clubs, making it a memorable occasion for all involved. The project aimed to give back and inspire the next generation of young footballers in the New York area, harnessing the unifying power of football to uplift communities around the world. As an Official Partner of both City and AC Milan, PUMA supported this community event by donating Manchester City and AC Milan kits and footwear to the children taking part.
