PUMA named one of Europe's top ten climate leaders by the Financial Times

August 19, 2024

Each year, the Financial Times and Statista publish a report on the sustainability efforts of European companies, particularly in terms of Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions. This year’s fourth edition of Europe’s Climate Leaders shows a positive trend: more and more European companies are making progress in reducing their emissions – and we are proud to be one of them.

With a score of 81.4 in the textiles, apparel & luxury goods sector, PUMA has been recognized as one of Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024.

 

In 2023, we set new greenhouse gas reduction targets, approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). But this is not the end of it:

“There is still a long way ahead of us in reducing our emissions, especially in the supply chain, where most of our greenhouse gas emissions occur."

By 2030, we aim to cut our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90% and reduce Scope 3 emissions from our supply chain and logistics by 33%, all from a 2017 baseline.
