Arne and Richard on center stage
Our CEO, Arne Freundt and our Richard Teyssier opened the show and announced our new – and biggest yet – Brand Campaign SEE THE GAME LIKE WE DO. FOREVER. FASTER.
“Everyone dreams of having a superpower and speed is PUMA’s. Speed is the superpower how the greats change the game. Just like our world’s icons Mondo Duplantis, Karsten Warholm, Neymar Jr or Breanna Stewart, we know that speed unlocks athletic performance and victory in everyone. Through our ability to bring speed to life, PUMA invites all people to break through their own limits, unlock their personal best and becoming a better version of themselves, allowing them to see the game like we do: FOREVER. FASTER.”
Arne Freundt, CEO of PUMA.
“Our new global brand campaign is PUMA’s biggest marketing investment ever. It is the first time that PUMA has one single message – FOREVER. FASTER. – throughout the entire year and across all performance categories such as Football, Running, Basketball and Handball. The holistic brand message is emotional and distinctive to make sure it connects and resonates with our target consumers.”
Richard Teyssier, Vice President Brand and Marketing.
A star-spangled panel
After the festive presentation of our new campaign video, Arne handed over the mic to PUMAFam member Colin Jackson, who welcomed Karsten Warholm, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Breanna Stewart and Armand Duplantis on stage to talk about the new brand campaign, in which they all star, and cast an eye on the upcoming Olympics in Paris and their expectations as athletes.
“We want to change our sport for the better, and this campaign is going to help us do that.”
Breanna Stewart
“It is a goosebump video – it touches all the right emotions that I get when I watch sports!”
Karsten Warholm
“It is exciting, I’m very happy to be part of this campaign and this Family, because they inspire me to make more records!”
Yaroslava Mahuchikh
“There’s nothing more important than speed, so, it’s such a sick campaign and it’s so awesome to be amongst such great athletes! It’s kind of a pinch me moment!”
Armand Duplantis
Best in Class
Then it was Marias Valdes‘ turn to take the stage. Our Chief Product Officer presented the products and innovations for the upcoming key sports moments in 2024 and explained how our new technologies like Nitro will help our Athletes to be Best in Class in this Year of Sports.
To highlight our dedication to serve the athlete and show, how we collaborate on the innovation journey, she welcomed our most infamous Coach–Athlete–Duo, Coach Leif and Karsten Warholm, on stage. They not only talked about their experience in Vietnam, where they played an essential role in developing Karstens new shoes, but also revealed the name of this new model: The Berserker.
“I almost feel more like a shoe engineer than an athlete in this moment” Karsten joked and explained: “We pushed to the limits – within the rules – and we built the best spikes possible.”
“The end product is unbelievable, it’s almost not a shoe anymore, it’s a piece of art, and it’s a phantastic music instrument – but you have to learn to play it!” Coach Leif answered as to which extend the new gear will influence his athletes performance.
The New Kits on the Blocks
Before taking on the journalists questions and diving deeper into the specs of innovation and product at the event, Maria, with the help of reigning Olympic High Jump Champion Mutaz Essa Barshim, then revealed the new Olympic Kits for the upcoming Games.
“Our best-in-class products are a collaborative effort between us and the athletes. When we started developing these kits three years ago, our incentive was to ensure they sat at the intersection of design, culture and innovation. It’s these innovations that enable us to see the game differently. We are a team of game changers with speed in our hearts, and these kits are a symbol of pride for the entire PUMA family; we hope that they become a symbol of pride for people across the globe this summer and long into the future.”
The innovative kits will be worn by athletes representing Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Saint Lucia, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago and Ukraine.
