PUMA shows how it elevates the brand in China at CIIE

November 15, 2024

PUMA has used the big stage of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) to show how it is elevating the brand in China with a future-focused product lineup, tailored specifically to Chinese consumers, as well as its commitment to local communities and sustainability.

The CIIE, which took place in early November in Shanghai, has become a premier platform for global cooperation, reflecting the shared commitment and aspiration between China and the world to further opening-up and collaboration.

PUMA showed off its NITRO™ technology, featuring high-performance footwear like the FAST-RB NITRO™ Elite running shoes and the ALL-PRO NITRO™ ELITE basketball shoes, emphasizing PUMA’s commitment to cutting-edge sports technology for China’s growing athletic community.

By actively listening to local preferences to bring “more Chinese, more fashion, and more breakthrough” products, PUMA’s China team also revived classic models like the Speedcat, incorporating modern influences and partnering with Chinese designers to reflect both tradition and fashion.

Visitors to the CIIE could also experience PUMA’s motorsport legacy through an F1 simulator and preview the Speedcat Mid model created for the 2025 F1 China Grand Prix. This special edition integrates Ferrari’s racing heritage with Chinese cultural elements, symbolizing PUMA’s ongoing pursuit of innovation and speed.

With its “In China, For China, Fostering the Growth of China’s Sports” strategy, PUMA strengthens local partnerships, such as through a new long-term collaboration with Shanghai Luwan Stadium, aiming to support runners of all levels and enrich the local running culture, with various equipment and services.

PUMA’s commitment to China also extends to social responsibility and sustainability. Since 2019, PUMA has supported rural schools in Lancang, Yunnan, through sports education resources. In September, PUMA partnered with elite basketball player Zhao Jiwei and provided supplies, sports education, and home visits, to further support local students. At this year’s CIIE, PUMA invited teachers and students from the school to visit CIIE and other city landmarks.

PUMA’s dedication to both community impact and environmental sustainability in China also extends to its partnership with local suppliers to make production more sustainable, supporting China’s dual-carbon goals.
