May 13, 2022And the WTR Industry Award for Fashion, Cosmetics and Luxury Goods Team of the Year goes to … PUMA! World Trademark Review announced the winners of its 2022 Industry Awards for in-house counsel at an exclusive reception in Washington DC this month and our Intellectual Property (IP) Team won the prestigious trophy. Well deserved! Congratulations from the whole PUMA family!
World Trademark Review announced the winners of its 2022 Industry Awards for in-house counsel this month. The event was attended by over 250 senior in-house professionals from nominated companies and representatives from a number of prominent law firms.
Representing PUMA´s entire IP Council team, the following colleagues were on site at the ceremony to receive the award: Gisela Ruhl (Trademark Manager – Legal Affairs Latin America/Pacific) , Benjamin Memmert (Teamhead Trademarks Legal Affairs), Ulla Sieber (IP Counsel, Legal Affairs)and Aylin Avci (Trademark Manager, APAC).
To arrive at the shortlist, WTR conducted in-depth research of in-house counsel worldwide by surveying the global trademark community. Hundreds of nominations make the awards unique in clearly identifying those counsel. The nomination process was followed by a two-month research process, conducted by the World Trademark Review editorial team.
We are very proud of our IP team or how Trevor Little (Editor of WTR) puts it: “All too often trademark counsel are the unsung heroes of their organisations. That has been particularly the case over the past 18 months. Whether in response to the pandemic or engaging on social issues, the profile of brands has been elevated like never before, and trademark professionals have played a truly critical role in ensuring that the brands they nurture are protected and able to engage in their role as social actors. It is therefore vitally important that the work they undertake is recognised, both internally and within the wider industry. All of this year’s shortlisted teams and individuals really do represent the best in class. The winners deserve special recognition for their exceptional achievements.”
