What a remarkable time it has been for our PUMA Fam in Paris, with our athletes delivering stellar performances across various disciplines. We already told you about the great success of our athletes in track and field, who won seven gold, seven silver and six bronze medals. But there were so many more amazing PUMA stories outside of the track and field stadium! Showing sportsmanship and teamwork, PUMA athletes also secured gold in five events, silver in seven, and bronze in 12 events in sports such as basketball, boxing, football, handball, field hockey, rugby sevens, shooting, and swimming. Check out the achievements our athletes have earned over these two and a half weeks!

5x Gold Medals 

Erislandy Álvarez Borges from Cuba has made a mark in the Men’s Boxing 63.5kg category.

The Danish men’s handball team clinched the gold, with standout performances from Lasse Andersson, Thomas Arnoldsen, Mathias Gidsel (who was named the MVP for Paris 2024), Simon Hald, Emil Jakobsen, Rasmus Lauge, and Simon Pytlick. This victory marks Denmark’s second Olympic gold in men’s handball, following their first win in Rio 2016.

In handball, PUMA player Henny Reistad became the top scorer in the final as the Norway Women’s team, which also includes PUMA athlete Veronica Kristiansen, won the gold.

In football, Joan García secured a gold medal with the Spanish team.

In  basketball, the winning USA Women’s team could rely on standout PUMA players like Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young.

7x Silver Medals 

 

The German men’s handball team, featuring Joel Birlehm, Rune Dahmke, Johannes Golla, Franz Semper, and Christoph Steinert, earned a well-deserved second place.

Coralie Lassource and Laura Flippes secured silver in handball with the French women’s team.

In basketball 3×3, Gracia Alonso and Juana Camilion from Spain showcased their talent, while Marieme Badiane, Sarah Michel, and Valeriane Vukosavljevic from France’s women’s basketball team, along with Andrew Albicy from the men’s team, secured a silver medal as well.

The Brazilian women’s football team, featuring PUMA players Antônia, Gabi Nunes, Ludmila, Tamires, and Thaís, along with French players Jean-Philippe Mateta, Alexandre Lacazette, and Kiliann Sildillia, also brought home silver.

12x Bronze Medals

Arlen López Cardona from Cuba clinched bronze in the Men’s Boxing 80kg category.

In football, Morocco’s Men’s team, including Oussama El Azzouzi and Oussama Targhalline took home their first ever Olympic medal by beating Egypt 6-0 to take the bronze.

There was also bronze for the many PUMA players such as Ann-Katrin Berger, Merle Frohms, Kathrin Hendrich, Sarai Linder, and Alexandra Popp, in Germany’s women’s team.

Denmark’s women’s handball team beat Sweden to take the bronze, with goal-scoring performances by PUMA Players Helena Elver and Kristina Jørgensen. The Spanish men’s handball team beat Slovenia to take the bronze also thanks to a great performance by PUMA players Aleix Gómez, who scored five goals in the match, as well as  Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, and Ian Tarrafeta.

In rugby sevens, South Africa’s bronze medal winning team included PUMA players Selvyn Davids, Christie Grobbelaar, Quewin Nortje, and Shaun Williams. In the women’s event, Alev Kelter scored a try in the bronze medal match to take home a medal for USA together with fellow PUMA players Kayla Canett and Naya Tapper

PUMA Players Abhishek Nain, Raj Kumar Pal, Amit Rohidas, Gurjant Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Shamsher Singh,andLalit Kumar Upadhyay secured bronze for the Indian men’s field hockey team. Zoe Diaz de Armas was part of Argentina’s bronze-winning women’s team.

Sarabjot Singh took home bronze medal in the Mixed 10m Air Pistol event in shooting, and Florent Manaudou from France took home two bronze medals from the Olympic swimming pool in the Men’s 50 Meter Freestyle and Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay
